NDT
DCHP-2 (Oct 2016)
n. — abbreviation, Science, especially Newfoundland
the initialism for Newfoundland Daylight Time.
Type: 1. Origin — NDT appears much later in print than Newfoundland daylight time or the comparatively recent Newfoundland Daylight Time. The term is most prevalent in Canada (see Chart 1), especially in Newfoundland (see Chart 2). The names for the other time zones in Canada are also used in the US, but Newfoundland is further east than any other land mass in North America and so has a time zone that is half an hour ahead of the rest of the continent.
See COD-2, which lists the term but does not label it in any way.
